The alpine garden of the Rochers-de-Naye counts about 1'000 species of plants, coming from various mountainous regions of Switzerland, Europe and various other continents. The proportion of indigenous plants is currently about 50%.
At Jardin Alpin La Rambertia, the vegetation period extends from the end of May to mid-October.

Trees, shrubs, ferns
In the mountains, depending on the climatic and weather conditions, the plants have 60 to 100 days to flower and produce their seeds.
These last ones, numerous, renew the species thanks to a hibernation under snow (vernalization) which allows their germination.
Thanks to a network of involved botanical gardens, seed exchanges are carried out.
