This monument was erected on the occasion of the centenary of the Botanical Society of the Alpine Garden La Rambertia (1896 - 1996).

Its construction was done in compliance with the directives of the Mont-Pèlerin monastery, which proceeded to the ritual ceremonies to make it a true Stupa, consecrated and recognized as such by the Buddhist monks.

At the same time, on the ridge descending from the summit of the Rochers-de-Naye, a Christian cross was erected, answering to the one installed on the summit of the Dent de Jaman.
